Yes! 7 yrs of putting in for a special damage control hunt. Found out I was one of the lucky Hunter's drawn. Will receive a packet of info/maps later this month. Next month we meet w/DNR to get an update where bear damage has been found & to get our gate keys issued. I will keep posting any developments as they happen. congrats Sideswipe....did ya buy a lotto ticket too ?

It is about 30 miles. The 1st day of the hunt is 15 April which is a little early for them to show up. But knowing me I will be up there earlier than that to do some scouting. The timber company's won't let us drive into their properties early but I can walk or bike in as much as I want. Just have to watch out for the log trucks but you can hear them a mile off as they come down "their roads" w/ a load of fir/cedar/hemlock logs. Hey Swipe...any Port Orford on those trucks ? lol

Yes, we must get together sometime in this lifetime. Think Tuk would love it too (he introduced me to Lunnenberg's Knot Pub).

Think so, had an offer yesterday from a friend while we were maintaining the sihoulette racks at the range where some of us old timers have monthly matches Cowboy Centerfire Sihoulette. Also, two days ago got a PM on the Hunt WA forum from a bearhunter who lives in the area of my spring hunt. Don't even know him but he offered to help pack & gave me his phone #. Another example to me that those who respect/hunt the "ghost of the woods" are a special breed...maybe a little quirky at times eh?

I was in Moreton, Wa last summer on a ride with some folks that I had just met face to face. ( I'm part of a yamaha roadstar forum so we chat like here but had never met before) and we went to the Buck Snort bar...it was pretty cool...small town...small bar with BIG ambiance...lol oh ya...here's a pic Attachments:

Any place named Buck Snort will get my business at least once. Road star forum eh? Does this mean a Canadian Biker Bar?
Oh good grief! The younguns in the pic are Tuk & his bride. Great folks & Canadian ale.
