It would appear that I am definitely hunting an area that has a long history for producing bears.
I received a text from Blackwidow the other day. He had finally gotten the Aging results back from DNR on his 2014 harvest. It was the oldest bear that Blackwidow has ever harvested and the oldest taken in the Province that year. It was a 21-22 years old boar.
Charlie Rehor had also hunted the Promise Land in 2013 and scored this 230 lb sow which aged out at 18-19 years old .
One surprising footnote to these harvests ... as one might expect Blackwidows old boar was, for the most part uneatable. He commented that you couldn't even eat it after being in the slowcooker. Charlie's bear which he kindly donated to me was the complete opposite . The meat off the sow was as tender as a 2 year old. Neither bear had anything that would be considered teeth.

Very Interesting! Those bears could both eat a lot of our WA bears! Keep this stuff coming Tuk.
