nobody went anywhere, just a slow boring time getting thru the holidays and such. No bears now!
I went moose hunting (archery) we had 1 bull tag for 6 guys. anyway our group got #48. so I got something to chew on. came home and did a reshingle on a rental house I own. 2 days after the job done - right knee acting up - swollen and locked straight. brutal for about 6 weeks. missed most of deer season. dec 1 started a bathroom reno at the same house. tenants coming dec 20. dec 15 all done. shampooed all the rugs then slipped and fell down the basement stairs. right from the top to bottom on back side. OOPS separated left shoulder and elbow... couldn't touch my belt buckle. then got the flu! what a fricken 2018 fall it was. one to forget. I've been out last 2 days for deer. wife or friend has to help me get coat on. can now touch forehead! getting dressed is the worse. anyway off to Dominican for 2 weeks shortly. maybe if I just sit on a beach I might heal up somewhat. (unless I get caught ogling the wrong woman - yikes)
plans are always underway for bears - identified a few improvements for my system. continuous improvement is spurned on by failures. The bears can be great teachers BUT I'M SMARTER ....... (I think)
too bad there isn't more exchanges going on here but this seems to be a trend with all blogs and forums.
These forums have been a great platform for ideas, instructions, friendships etc. sorry to see it waning.

Dang skeeter, rough Fall! Job has kept me out of the woods, but that ends April 1! All I did to myself was cut the tendon in my left thumb with a tape measure. Hope you have safe New Year.

healing slower as you age is a bummer.
I went out last night (4th time) for deer. Second last day of the archery season. Needed wife and friend to get bibs and jacket on. Getting dressed is tough on the shoulder. Took a friend along (my dragger) - anyway I shot a nice doe with my mini verticle crossbow .. went 75yds and died in hayfield. drove right to her. Seems I didn't need a dragger - just a loader! HAH!

Sounds like a blast, even though I had to convert the temps to something we in the US can understand! Have a safe trip home and don’t bring back anything you shouldn’t.

My Jeez Skeeter ... helluva December for ya ! You may want to invest in a roll of Bubble Wrap ! I'm embarrassed to have to admit this but I didn't even hunt 2018. Been having issues with my knee , but at least I'm on the list for a replacement.I was getting so stressed out with trying to get good bait that I finally said " The hell with it " I really didn't want the grief.
We'll see what this year brings. I went back in November to my site for old times sake and found that the tree I'd been using for the elevated barrel was dead and snapped off about 8' off the ground. If I am able to hunt this fall (2019) I think I may change out my sight to another area further back the gated road I'm on.
Unfortunately Ibowhntr ... I think Skeeter is right. With the popularity of facebook and other social media sites the forums seem to be dwindling in interest . e can only hope that some folks, like myself, lose interest in the media craze we're all exposed to and come back to the forum format.
Hmmmm .... " And don't bring back anything you shouldn't " ... wonder just exactly what Ibowhntr is thinking about.

Well, I’m not on any social media, not that social. I don’t care what you had for breakfast or what your cat did. I enjoy hanging with like minded people. Gotten away from other forums due to bashing and bad information. This is one of the few places that I like to hang my hat.

Gotten away from other forums due to bashing and bad information. This is one of the few places that I like to hang my hat. I too do not have facebook. When I hear what goes on there from friends or family it only convinces me more to stay off it. It is a total invasion of privacy.
Anyhow the old BEA (Bears East Adventures) website (I thought) was fabulous. Lots of great people - not a bash ever - and egos were checked off when you signed in.
The archives there had tons of info and tips, and trials and tribulations. Too bad it was lost. Hats off to tuk for starting this.

First let me say "THANK YOU" to all of the members for signing on and sharing their experiences and expertise with us !
Ilbowhntr and Skeeter ... I too am not a big fan of Facebook and enjoy conversing with those like minded individuals that share this special bond and obsession with Ursus Americanus! I certainly agree with you Skeeter about BEA . It was a shock to find that Roger had decided to move on to other things. It bothered me so much I just had to try and revive it. Hence the birth of BQO. I'm not very computer sauve so setting up a Forum for me was quite an ordeal in learning!
I have to say I'm very pleased and proud of our small membership and the respectful manner in which they present themselves ...I am humbled !
Oh Ilbowhntr ... just for the record ... I have 5 cats .. Lol!
Here's to wishing a successful season to us all !
