So I am planning on baiting this year but also want to really challenge myself and try to spot and stalk bears. Anyone ever try this and been successful? Especially in Nova Scotia. I live in Pictou County so was thinking either Mt. Thom or Dalhousie Mountain would be a good spot to start. Was thinking a 3-4 day trip, camp out and backpack as much as possible.

Spot and Stalk in Nova Scotia ? ... Not saying it can't be done , but I think it would be a hard row to hoe, especially with bow. Best thing I would think is to set up over natural bait ie ... wild berries. I've been up close on the ground with one when leaving the bait so I know it's possible. It's quite a rush.
Let us know if you try it ... very interested in how you make out. You might want to consider honing your writing skills too. Once you start getting some of these cool experiences , you're gonna want to write them down in story form. Trust me ...it's happened to more than a few us us ...eh guys !

Will be giving it a try the first weekend of the season. Driving to the mountain Thursday the 15th parking at the graveyard on Dalhousie and then off I go until Sunday. Will be me and one or 2 other buddies, will be taking the bow and my new 300 win mag if I cant do it with the bow. Have been putting things together I need, have to pick up a few more things but other then that I should be good to go. Will be trying something I seen online with my food will be making big meals and then dehydrating them. Then all I need to do is add water and there it is homemade mountain house type meals. Should be a good experience even if unsuccessful it will be fun to do.
