chip sure glad to hear you're on a new path. Last year you were bummed out. time heals as they says. once this bear tick burrows into a person it's hard to shake it off. some of us have more ticks then others obviously.
nothing beats an active bait site. It shows that you're doing something right. I love this bear hunting for that very reason. From the crudest set-ups to the most elaborate designs there's opportunities and thrills for us all.
I shoulda know you'd be a Corona swizzler. Is that even legal on the east coast? I thought all you guys drank Moosehead. How good can a beer from Mexico be? You gotta add lime slices to it make it somewhat palatable.

Thanks for the visual entertainment/encouragement. It has been in the high 80's to lo 90's (F) here. Tomorrow it be 10-20 deg cooler. Sure hope to be out there tromorrow. Too hot in the house to eat supper so I guess we'll have to suffer & have the steaks w/eggs tomorrow. A least we will smell like carnivoures eh? You & Skeeter are light years ahead of us baitless hunters, esp in this heat surge.
Wore my Knot Pub T-shirt today. Got a few interested looks at the range (not too hot to shoot). Had a pwr outage tonight...to many air conditioners & fans I guess.

Well, in the great state of Montana there is a town called Missoula. It is the HQ for a delightful brew called Moose Drool. It is as dark as it is delicious. Also, the official brew of the Levergun Scoundrels....even loved by our Texican Brothers. I must respectfully submit that you Canadians know how to brew as well. The LS also take great pride (snobbery ?) in their burbons although the rite of bearcamp introduced me to something in a purple bag called Crown Royal. How do you make it so smooth?....3 in 1 oil? Just keep it coming.

In this instance I don't think "catch and release" would work too well for ya! and even less for the bear. and also "size" does matter!

Bear Log ... Tues 06 Sept 16. Have baited three times since my last Log Post... Aug 27th & 31st, and today Sept 06. It's been much of the same over the last two weeks. I've lost count as to how many different bears I have coming.Quite a few night shots but still some photos of good bears during last shooting light. Out of the bunch I have at least 3 shooters.
This was a bit of a surprise to see ... I knew I had a sow with cubs but what I didn't know was ....
It's amazing to see the social interactions between these bears. This big ole boy seems to tolerate the company very well, I may have to name him Gentle Ben ! I have numerous pics of three of them together. Having said that ... it ain't always peaches and cream.
I had the camera on a two shot sequence and caught this ...just funny.

To add insult to injury ...I now have a shortage of bait. the week before season opener. My last two calls for bait met with zero results. All of the sudden there is a big rush on by bear hunters looking for bait. I put out the last of what I have , which won't last a couple of days . I'm lucky to get 3 days out of a load, mind you once season starts and I'm on stand I'll only take in a bit.
And before you say it Skeeter ...yeh, yeh ..I know !
Lovely, just Freakin' Lovely ! I have a Buddy coming from Newfoundland for week #2 ... this ain't looking good for the ole Tukster!
