2016 was year number 40 as a licenced professional guide in southern N.B.I retired several years ago and that lasted about 2 weeks but I can say I am now officially retired and guiding only myself and grand kids.More pics and some stories to follow.

glad to have you aboard. nice bears. tripod hoist looks like a necessity. 20 yrs ago two of us manhandled a 425 spring bear into the pickup. Quite the ordeal. He died right by the logging path. We took off the tailgate and backed the rear tires into the ditch. Put the bed about 12" off the ground. I think that was the start of a hernia for the both of us!
Now we just process them right where they fall.

It would be nice to live in an area that has a bear population. We have deer out the back door, front door, even have a picture of one on my archery range. IDNR says there are no bears, wolves or cougars in Illinois, but they past a law against shooting one if you see it. Go figure. Outstanding bear and amazing record.

Just got a new log home done and most of my mounts hung. That and 8 grandkids in the area. Besides, the wife lets me go on any adventure I can dream up. I'm just more of a DIY bowhunter, and maybe a little bit of a tightwad, so I have to pick and choose where I go. Never wanted someone holding my hand.

4EB...lov'in the pics. We got 25,000 bear in WA but not many Big Toads like you've been showing. Average bear taken here is 200-250#. My all time record is 300# taken still hunt'in....at 30 paces (still hunt'in w/a levergun). What do you Canadians feed them bear anyway? In all their wisdom, WA voters here outlawed both hunting w/bait or hound hunting. Enjoy what you got & keep an eye on the politicians (IMHO).

Definitely enjoying what we have with an eye on the politics involved.I usually have an idea of what is happening being a bowhunting instructor for the province of N.B. Anything being changed I will find out about at the annual meeting,
