Yes Sir! This area was first logged about 100 yrs ago. Not as big as the old California Redwood. Probably a very old Spruce. I have my hand in one of the springboard notches cut by an axe by the early loggers. They would then cantilever a plank to stand on to get up above the wide butt of the tree. Before chainsaws...2 man saws, took a day or two to cut it down back in the day.
I was really Look'in for a spring bear but it was slow & I amuse myself by exploring.
