I’ve been told this has made the rounds on the ‘net. Just in case you missed it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ziib-MZ5IXYDuring an extensive Black Bear survey in Gray’s Harbor, WA in the late 70s, researchers (including Ralph Flowers) were tracking the radio collars of denned up bears. Once located, they would crawl into the dens to take a census of cubs born. Quite unexpected they came upon a murder scene in one den. They finally figured out what had happened. A boar Black Bear woke up hungry & entered another den. Killed the sow & ate one of the cubs. He then returned to his den.
