Just wanted to give a big Hello to our two newest members Daniel and Moore ! Welcome to the group ! We're a small but pretty friendly group here, more than will to offer their knowledge and experience to those you may be new to the sport of Bear Hunting, or to those who may be looking to try some new or different tactics.
Needless to say we're always learning so we're always open to having you share your knowledge and experiences with us as well.Feel free to wander thru the archives and if you don't see an answer or something peaks your curiosity then by all means ask away!
Tell us a bit about yourself ! From where to you hail from? What's your choice of weapon? Preferred method of bear hunting? New or seasoned bear hunters ?
Again ...Welcome Aboard!

Well, I’m not exactly new here, but I never did an intro . I’ve been a hunter since I was 12. My main quarry for years was whitetail deer as soon as I could legally pursue them. About 10(ish) years ago, I inadvertently became a bear hunter when they started showing up at our deer hunting spots with more and more regularity. Let me tell you, it’s become quite an obsession for me. Now my #1 pursuit. My wife has become nearly as avid as me. We’ve been quite successful with our harvests so far and we seem to raise the bar for ourselves every year. I book my vacation time to coincide with our Nova Scotia bear season and planning for each year begins the day after it closes each year.

Good to hear from you nontypical. Started hunting before my teens too. Confess I didn’t take my 1st bear until my 40s. Here in WA bear season 3 mos before deer season & goes after deer season closes. A no-brainer..

Sideswipe - Nontypical is no stranger to me. We actually took our 4th Class Stationary Engineer course together. He only lives an hour away and we chat pretty much on a daily basis.
This guy is nuts about bears / bear hunting. He's always looking for a new trick to gain an edge !I'm sure once he gets the computer glitch figured out, we'll be hearing a lot more from him !
Thanks again Steve for the support and looking forward to some of those stories you've been itchin' to write!

Sounds like someone who has something to offer. A great value of forums is how they can be used to bring experience to share w/ newer hunters or, for that matter, a refreshing new views to the experienced. Looking fwd to posts from nontypical!
