I use a site that eliminates interference from non shooters and forces the bears to come in on a straight undisturbed line to the bait. What is you strategy?

Hey Pipe. I never really understood your setup ...until now ! It certainly is an interesting setup... you clever ole dog. Are you going back to the windfall site this year? How are snow conditions right now for ya in the hills?
As you know my setup is pretty simple ... sit in a tree and wait. Last year I went from 2 to 3 barrels at my site. Not sure if it was coincidence or just plain luck but I seemed to have a lot more bears around. With Bea not hunting the Wayback site last year I pulled the barrels out, I'm thinking that may have been a contributing factor as I know we would sometimes share the same bears with our sites less than 2 miles apart.
I'm lucky enough to be on a gated road , so my site is pretty safe from interlopers !

Yes, it will be the "blow down" site. I put a roof on my ground blind a number of years ago. Amazingly it held for 4 winters. I am sure it will need a little TLC this Spring.

I have not shot the big boy since losing most of the vision from my right eye.

That was a tragic day Brother! I expect that really causes you problems for depth perception. I assume you're right eye dominant as well? Have you done any type of shooting since the incident?
I ask only out of concern ... and knowing you, this is a hirtle you will conquer! Ya can't keep a good man down ! Soldier on My Brother !

I have found shooting instinctive with the recurve ...is still there.
