Here's a simple homemade scent spray. No rocket science here . Mine own spray consists of Vanilla extract, hickory smoke and strained restaurant fryer oil.
There are so many scents/smells you can add. Even jello crystals , especially raspberry, has a strong sweet smell. Anise extract , a licorice flavour, is also a popular scent used by hunters.

Always used anise in a spray bottle on the stand. Few guys I know used James Valley Scents. Picked up a couple the other day to take north with me in June.

We always used the fryer oil in a grease pit in front of the bait when we started one or only had smaller bears coming in.
