this is at a deer site....never had too many issues to the other day. This fella took a dislike to the spypoint. Broke strap and antenna. Luckily I had a spare sp antenna on hand. Cam still works. Ive lost a few over the years... but overal all things considered not too bad. Some bruins I think are just prone to wrecking stuff while the majority arn't .

A chewed up Cell Tcam ? That could get expensive real quick.
I think the concept is great if you can keep camera from being detected by thieves or destroyed by contemptable bears. Unfortunately I have no cell service at my site so its a moot point for me, as long as I stay there.
Its kind of a double edged sword - On one hand you see remotely what's at your bait when you're not there , but on the other hand you can see what's there when you're not ...Lol !

tuk there may be an ethics (to some) issue with the cells.....but they sure are handy. Mind ya, even the older non cell cams did ruffle some feathers back in the day as well. I use a few cells now....and they are indeed handy. I used one early this spring when I opened up a bait before the bruins really had the ol feed bag strapped on yet. So, gas being what it is these days....i didnt have to make runs up to check on the hit/not hit status. I just sat back and waited till the cam told me the bears had arrived. THis particular t cam that took the hit was in an area that had never showed much bear activity. It was a deer spot. But bears are likely to show up anywhere these days. Oddly, there would be no scent on the cam as its been there since last fall without being touched. Some bears are just destructive I think . Thats just the price of admission I guess. This cam still works. A new antenna and good to go. Ive been reluctant to put cells on bear baits for fear of destruction.....but when I do, Ive taken to putting them high on branchless trees. As mentioned, with the cell the need to constantly handle them with bear baity smelling hands is almost non existent. And I believe that Pope n Young ( not sure of B n C ) ruled that critters taken with the aid of a cell were no longer eligible for their record books. There was such a backlash that they caved a bit and now say you can use them but just not on the "real time" setting for picture events. ie.....you can have it set to send pics ;ike 6 times a day say.....but not the instant it triggers. I guessing very one used on a trophy critter will be set to delayed transmitting . just a hunch

With the price of fuel and bait nowadays I can sure see the benefit of knowing if a bait needs to be replenished. Nothing worse than loading a bunch of bait only to find out site hasn't ben hit and you have to drag it all home again. Vise-versa not knowing bait is getting hit hard and you go three - four days without knowing barrels have been empty.
