Hello guys and gals.
New to the site, my name is Douglas Boze aka saylean. I was brought here by a post from sideswipe on another forum. Looking forward to reading your threads and adding to them hopefully. I live in Washington and have wrote two books on bear hunting. I love to call bears and have hunted them from Alaska, all over Washington and Idaho. So, here is to bear hunting, a wonderful way to spend a late summer or fall day.

So great to have you on board ! Funny thing is I was talking to Sideswipe about how cool it would be to be able to use calls as part of my Bear Hunting bag of tricks . I'm really hoping you can give us some insight into calling and perhaps recommend some calls . I hear from SideSwipe that Kid Rock has some awesome calls ...definitely on my wish list. !
Oh ! SideSwipe ...God Love his Soul ... I sit here looking at 3 books which I'm sure you're familiar with ... "The Education of a Bear Hunter " ; " Bears and Flowers" ; and of course " Born Under A Stump " .

Saylean! Surprised & happy to see you on this "young" forum. I echo Tuk's comments & encourage you to share your experiences & advice re: calling. I have one of Billy The Kid Rock's calls. Have done a little cold calling but hunting solo & on the ground I wasn't "brave" enough to call for any length of time. As a kid I used to call in rabbit s "Indian style" by sucking thru my fingers...even called in a bobcat "by mistake" once.
There is a whole thread sitting on this forum for calling that is empty. Also would like you to add some about your publications.

I actually started to write in the calling forum, but I am under contract to refrain from a few things for my upcoming book, so I deleted my post to avoid any sort of unwanted scenario. Rest assured, I will be making contributions as soon as I can. Thanks for the welcome. I like the idea of just a bear forum, kind of cool.
